As part of implementating the country’s high authorities guidelines to strenghten commercial relations with Niger , SONATRACH and SONIDEP have reached a new milestone in their cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon marketing , with the loading on 14 August 2026 of first cargo of Nigerien crude oil «Meleck» marketed jointly, from the petroleum terminal of Sémé in Benin.
This first operation illustrates SONATRACH’s development strategy in Africa and its willingness to provide African partners with its expertise and know-how in hydrocarbon marketing.
The joint marketing of «Meleck» crude oil between SONATRACH and SONIDEP is also in line with the endeavour to strengthen relations between Algeria and Niger, reflecting the wish of both parties to develop sustainable partnerships and create mutually beneficial opportunities .
