The event’s theme was focused on “Investing in African Energy: Enabling Africa to Take Leadership in the Energy Sector.”
The company was represented by a high-level delegation composed of senior executives from the Group.
This international event gathered more than 6,000 participants, including high-ranking government officials, energy sector executives, and a significant number of African and international investors.
Discussions dealt with promoting investment opportunities and opened a constructive dialogue around the immense energy potential of the African continent.
With the aim of highlighting Algeria as a major investment destination, capable of attracting capital on a global scale and developing balanced partnerships, SONATRACH’s Vice President and CEO in charge of Business Development and Marketing was the keynote speaker at a strategic session entitled: “Unlocking Algeria’s Energy Potential: Investment Priorities for 2026 and Beyond.”
He presented Algeria’s investment roadmap for 2026, the regulatory incentives provided, and investment opportunities in the fields of exploration, infrastructure development, and renewable energy. In addition, the SONATRACH delegation held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of this event, notably with several South African companies such as Vuwa Investments Holding, Aspen Energy, and Lanziblox Joint Venture.
It also met with representatives of Ammat Global Resources (Republic of Congo), as well as those of the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels (Republic of Angola).
These meetings aim to strengthen relations in cooperation between SONATRACH and African companies, while developing opportunities for intra-African partnerships.
On another level, the SONATRACH delegation also met with representatives from Equinor (Norway), Chevron (United States), and Mitsui & Co (Japan).
The Algerian delegation also held discussions with S&P Global, an American institution specializing in financial analysis and evaluation, as well as with Wood Mackenzie, a multinational consulting firm recognized for its expertise in strategic analysis and the provision of data on the energy industry.
SONATRACH’s participation in this important event is fully in compliance with Algeria’s energy vision, aimed at consolidating its role as a key player in the African energy industry and contributing to energy security at the continental and global levels.
It also reflects Algeria’s steady commitment to building a balanced energy model, combining responsible development of its oil and gas resources and the development of environmentally friendly alternative solutions in a spirit of consistency with global energy transitions and the Sustainable Development objectives.
