| Oran, 24 June 2025 Placed under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, the kickoff of the 12th edition of the Scientific and Technical days was given, today, at ’’Ahmed Ben Ahmed’’ Convention Center in Oran. The opening ceremony of this event which will last from 24 to 26 June 2025, took place in the presence of the Secretary of State in charge of Renewable Energies, Mr. Noureddine YASSAA, the Minister of Industry Mr. Sifi GHRIEB, the Wali of Oran Mr. Samir CHIBANI, the CNRST President, Professor Mustapha YAHI and the Chairman & CEO of SONATRACH Group, Mr. Rachid HACHICHI. The regional and international organizations were highly represented during this ceremony which was attended by the Secretary General of The Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) Mr. Djamel Aissa AL LOUGHANI, the Commissioner for infrastructure and Energy of the African Union Commission, Mrs. Lerato Dorothy MATABOGE and representatives from the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO) as well as CEOs from several international energy companies. Under the theme « The Energy of technological Innovation for a Sustainable Development”, this twelfth edition of SONATRACH Scientific and Technical Days will feature the presentation of more than 400 papers from national and international experts and researchers, focusing on three strategic areas: • Exploration and Production (Oil & Gas), integrating technological advances in oil and gas exploration and improving recovery in different types of reservoirs. • The Environment and Sustainable Development, paramount pillars of the global energy transition. • Digital Transformation, an essential lever for boosting performance and promoting innovation On the sidelines of this JST 12th edition, two high-level conferences will be organized, namely: • The « National Energy Meeting », organized jointly with the National Council of Scientific Research and Technologies (CNRST) and the Energy sector which will see the participation of high-level international experts who will debate on the prospects and opportunities of development of the energy sector. The conference « International Conference Green Hydrogen Algeria 2025 » which theme focuses on the national strategy of hydrogen development in Algeria and also the opportunities of launching projects under partnership in the field of green hydrogen. Since its launching in 1994 and throughout the editions, SONATRACH‘s JST have acquired an international scope and have become a forum where visions converge and partnerships are formed. They also established themselves as a platform of open dialogue which promotes the culture of performance, fosters the spirit of innovation and enshrines the principles of continuous training, knowledge and know-how sharing and the acknowledgment of professional excellence |
