Oran, October 5, 2026
SONATRACH and the Thai company PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) signed, today, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, notably investment in hydrocarbon exploration and production activities in Algeria and internationally, as well as skills development and local content. The MoU also covers areas such as innovation, energy transition, and new technologies.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Nour Eddine DAOUDI, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of SONATRACH, and Mrs Kanita Thanita Sartwattayu, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of PPTEP, during a ceremony held on the side-lines of the North Africa Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (NAPEC 2026).
This MoU aims to strengthen the existing relationship between the two companies and expand their cooperation through the exploration of new partnership opportunities across the entire hydrocarbon value chain.
PTTEP has been operating in Algeria since 2002, participating in several major hydrocarbon exploration and development projects in partnership with SONATRACH.
