SONATRACH engages discussions with the Omani holding company Mohammed AL-BARWANI in order to develop partnership in the oil & gas sector

As part of strengthening international cooperation and partnership relations, Mr. Rachid HACHICHI, Chairman and CEO of the SONATRACH Group, met today at the headquarters of the Groups General Management with a high-level delegation from the Omani holding company “Mohammed Al-Barwani,” led by its CEO, Mr. Mohammed AL-BARWANI, in the presence of several senior executives from both parties.

During this meeting, the prospects for developing the partnership between SONATRACH and the Omani holding company were discussed, particularly in the areas of hydrocarbon exploration and production as well as oil services. The Omani delegation expressed its intention to invest in Algeria and expand areas of cooperation with SONATRACH.

The representatives of the Omani company emphasized their willingness to collaborate with the SONATRACH Group, recognized as a reliable partner benefiting from advanced expertise and cutting-edge technical capabilities, giving it a leading position in the oil and gas sector. These strengths make SONATRACH an ideal partner for the implementation of large-scale energy projects. On this occasion, both parties expressed their desire to strengthen their bilateral relations, reflecting the aspirations of both countries to deepen their cooperation and establish a strategic partnership.

As a reminder, the holding company “Mohammed Al-Barwani” is one of the largest investment groups in the Sultanate of Oman. It operates primarily in the fields of oil exploration, production, and services through its subsidiaries, including “Petrogas” and “Mohammed Al-Barwani Oil Services.” The group also manages integrated projects in several countries, including the Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Mozambique.
