SONATRACH holds its General Assembly

In accordance with SONATRACH’s statutes, the Ordinary General Assembly was held, today, at the headquarters of the company’s General

Management, chaired by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed ARKAB, in the presence of its members : the Minister of Finance, Mr. Abdelkrim BOUZRED, the Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Mr. Salah Eddine TALEB, as well as Mr. Faouzi AMOKRANE, representing the Presidency of the Republic.

The Chairman and CEO of SONATRACH, Mr. Nour Eddine Daoudi, and the members of the Company’s Board of Directors were also present. During this General Assembly, the members approved the Company’s annual budget for the 2026 fiscal year, as well as the adoption of the medium-term development plan covering the period 2026–2030, concerning the hydrocarbon value chain. This plan focuses on strengthening exploration and production efforts in order to bolster hydrocarbon reserves. It also includes ambitious programs in the processing industry, particularly in refining and petrochemicals, with a view to satisfying the needs of the domestic market, while enhancing the export capacities and mechanisms for hydrocarbons and derived products, and ultimately maintaining SONATRACH’s key position in the global energy market. In this regard, SONATRACH reasserted its firm commitment to aligning all its projects with Algeria’s international standards, regulations, and commitments, particularly those related to reducing its carbon footprint. This engagement is embodied by the implementation of measures to cut down greenhouse gas emissions, the progressive development of the energy mix, and the deployment of reforestation initiatives. These orientations are fully in line with SONATRACH’s strategic vision, aiming to reconcile the latest international standards in the energy industry with universally recognized environmental standards, thereby consolidating its leading position among major energy companies at the regional and international levels.
