SONATRACH Strengthens Its International Cooperation and Expands Its Partnerships in the sector of Energy and hydrogen

On the sidelines of the North Africa and Mediterranean Exhibition and Conference on Energy and Hydrogen (NAPEC 2025), the Chairman and CEO of the SONATRACH Group, Mr. Rachid HACHICHI, held a series of meetings in Oran with representatives of major international companies, with the aim of strengthening relations in cooperation and expanding partnership areas.

The Chairman and CEO’s discussions started with a meeting with the Chairman and CEO of the Spanish company Cepsa, Mr. Maarten WETSELAAR, in the presence of senior executives from both companies.

This meeting focused on examining means to reinforce the current strategic partnership. between SONATRACH and Cepsa, as well as deepening the existing cooperation in various segments of the energy industry

 Mr. Rachid Hachichi also received a delegation from Halliburton, a multinational company specializing in oil services, led by Mr. Rami Yassine, Executive Vice President of the Group. Discussions focused on the progress of bilateral relations and the prospects of expanding cooperation to new areas of common interest, including innovative technological solutions aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of SONATRACH’s activities, as well as the implementation of artificial intelligence in the energy industry. In the same context, the Chairman and CEO of SONATRACH met with Mr. Chérif DARRADJI, Director of Development and Marketing of Nevada Nano, a pioneering company in the provision of exclusive and advanced solutions in the fields of security and climate, through innovative products for the detection of greenhouse gases and automated systems for continuous monitoring of emissions.

Mr. Rachid HACHICHI rounded off this series of meetings with a meeting with the Vice President of Infrastructure and Technology of the German company VNG, during which the two parties discussed their partnerships in the field of green hydrogen, as well as the prospects for their development in support of shared objectives regarding the sustainable energy transition These various meetings prove SONATRACH’s endeavour to consolidate its position as a reliable partner on the international energy scene, as well as its determination to develop its relationships with the world’s leading companies, in order to support its energy transition strategy and promote innovation and sustainable technologies in the energy industry.
