The Chairman & CEO of the SONATRACH Group accompanies the  Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies during an inspection and work visit  to the Wilaya of Illizi

The Chairman & CEO of the SONATRACH Group, M. Rachid Hachichi, accompanied  the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies , M. Mohamed Arkab, within the framework of an inspection and work visit in the production region of Tin Fouyé Tabankort (TFT), wilaya of Illizi.

This visit conducted in the presence of a high-level delegation  including Senior Executives of the SONATRACH Group and Mr. Hamou Touahria, Secretary General of FNTPGC, is part of the follow-up of the development projects and the reinforcement of the energy installations in the Tin Fouyé Tabankort region.

The delegation started this visit with the inauguration of a new life camp to the benefit of the workers of In Amenas  regional Directorate relevant to the Pipeline Transport Activity . This new infrastructure has a capacity to host 126 workers and comprises rooms for accomodation, , a restaurant, leasure spaces as well as infrastructures built according to the best up-to-date standards , providing comfort to the employees and the improvement of their working conditions

Then, the delegation visited Tin Fouyé Tabenkort Regional Production Directorate, pertaining to the Exploration-Production Activity , where they attended a detailed technical presentation dealing with managing and developing reservoirs as well as the progress of production operations  of Tin Fouyé Tabankort which is the major hub of hydrocarbon production in the country.

The TFT field includes 23  separation centers, 4 storage and delivery centers  a unit for processing  associated gas , a power station , 2 water production and injection centers and also other vital equipment. Its production capacity reaches 54 000 barrels/ day of crude oil and 5.2 million cubic meters of associated gas of which 2.4 million cubic meters per day destined to exports.

Later, the company NAFTAL , a SONATRACH  wholly-owned subsidiary, made a presentation on fuel  distribution activity in the Wilaya of Illizi, which comprises several installations  of which 5 service-stations and two aeronautical centers. Naftal ensures also the supply to the wilaya with gasoil, unleaded gasoline and Sirgaz in order to meet the growing needs with oil products in the wilaya of  Illizi  

The delegation also visited the Ain Tsila gas field in the Ilizi basin, where it received detailed technical explanations regarding the gas processing center (CPF). On this occasion, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, and Mr. Rachid Hachichi, Chairman and CEO of the SONATRACH group, inaugurated this complex, which includes two processing trains with a total capacity of 12 million m³/day of gas, 1,800 tons/day of condensates and 1,600 tons/day of LPG, as well as a power generation unit with a capacity of 125 megawatts and a pipeline network extending over a distance of 355 km.

During the same visit, the delegation inaugurated the new Aïn Tsila base camp. With a capacity of 220 workers, it was built by the Société Nationale de Génie Civil et Bâtiment (GCB), a subsidiary of SONATRACH. At the end of the visit, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, and the Chairman and CEO of the SONATRACH Group presided over the inauguration ceremony of the new Tin Fouyé Tabankort airport, which represents a significant contribution to the region’s energy and logistics infrastructure while contributing to the  local development move by creating added value and new jobs. This facility was designed according to modern standards to provide the best conditions for welcoming, guiding, and providing services to travelers, while guaranteeing a pleasant and safe working environment for service personnel. This field visit demonstrates the endeavour of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the SONATRACH Group to pursue the ongoing momentum of developing gas field production and to strengthen national capacities in the exploration and exploitation of energy resources, in accordance with the strategic objectives of the sector.
