SONATRACH Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Nour Eddine DAOUDI, met, today, at the Headquarters, with Mr. Park JONGHAN, Deputy Minister in charge of Economic Affairs and Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, in the presence of SONATRACH Senior Executives and a delegation including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and also from the Embassy of this country in Algiers.
During this meeting, both parties discussed about the commercial relations between SONATRACH and Korean companies. The talks also dealt with supplies of crude oil and petroleum products by SONATRACH and especially, naphtha. They also considered the possibility of medium- and long-term marketing contracts.
It should be noted, that a commercial sell and purchase agreement, was signed in March 2026, between SONATRACH and the Korean company «S-OIL».
Also, the two parties discussed the potential and expertise of the Korean companies in different technological segments of interests to SONATRACH, such as upstream oil & gas and oil services. For this purpose, SONATRACH and the Korean party agreed to set up a platform of exchange and dialogue in order to explore the various potential prospects and partnership opportunities between SONATRACH and the Korean companies.
This meeting is part of strengthening exchange and partnership relations between SONATRACH and the Korean companies operating in the hydrocarbons sector and pave the way to new perspectives of cooperation.
