Working visit of Mr. Nou Eddine DAOUDI, Chairman and CEO of the SONATRACH Group to the  Hassi Messaoud region

The Chairman & CEO of the SONATRACH Group Mr.Nour Eddine DAOUDI accompanied by seniors officials from the company conducted a field visit in the Hassi Messaoud region on December 20th,  2025.

The program of this visit is part of the follow-up of strategic projects aiming at reinforcing the national drilling capacities as well as optimizing the operational performances.

To begin with, the delegation went to the ENTP logistics base to attend a detailed presentation of the company. Then, Mr Nour Eddine DAOUDI inaugurated the new projects achieved by SONATRACH ‘s affiliate, namely : The inauguration of the center « ENTP EYES/ Real Time » Decision Supports Center.

This is a decision support center, comprising a remote monitoring system based on an artificial intelligence solution and supported by a set of state-of-the-art cameras installed on the various drilling rigs. Designed and implemented in record time thanks to entirely national expertise and the collaboration of startups, this center will enable real-time monitoring of operations and performance tracking through continuous monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize resources. During the visit, the Chairman and CEO of the SONATRACH Group emphasized the importance of innovation, which is one of the pillars enabling SONATRACH to achieve its objectives.

The visit also included the commissioning of two new 750 HP “Fast Move” drilling rigs, the first of a series of eight rigs of varying power planned in the Medium-Term Plan (MTP). With these acquisitions, ENTP has reached a significant milestone, enabling it to diversify and strengthen its services. The commissioning of the TP 234 unit, with a power output of 1500 HP and equipped with VFD technology, has also been completed, thus concluding the refurbishment program of five units initially acquired as used equipment.

The CEO of ENTP, Mr. Abdelghafour GHELLAB, announced on this occasion that this program has enabled the complete modernization of the subsidiary’s services thanks to ENTP’s internal expertise, resulting in financial savings of over US$150 million, equivalent to the cost of acquiring similar new equipment. Mr. Nour Eddine Daoudi indicated that this equipment represents an investment aligned with SONATRACH’s 2030 strategy.

The delegation’s presence provided an opportunity for the ENTP representative to present a completed project for the construction of sludge circuits, entirely designed by the subsidiary’s engineering team and manufactured by the National Railway Company, in line with the Group’s policy of promoting national integration and local content. To this end, Mr. Nour Eddine DAOUDI instructed the subsidiaries of the SONATRACH Group to work towards the manufacture of new equipment using national resources, by pooling resources through the design of a platform enabling SONATRACH’s subsidiaries to identify their needs in terms of spare parts already available in order to reduce delays and optimize costs

Mr. Nour Eddine Daoudi congratulated all the managers and engineers of ENTP, stating: “These achievements are the result of a steady work, carried out with determination by teams in a spirit of cooperation, discipline, and responsibility. Their dedication reflects the values that underpin the strength of the SONATRACH Group and asserts our unwavering commitment to honoring the trust placed in our Group.”

The ENAFOR subsidiary was also on the agenda for this visit.

The Chairman and CEO of SONATRACH and his delegation visited the ENAFOR yard. A detailed technical presentation was given by Mr. Brahim Hammoudi, Chairman and CEO of ENAFOR, regarding the acquisition of an ENAFOR 62 telescopic drilling rig with a 1000 HP engine, a Fast Moving type, equipped with a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) system and mounted on trailers. This device, designed to significantly reduce the time required for Dismantling, Transport, and Assembly (DTM), will improve equipment mobility and increase the overall efficiency of drilling operations, perfectly aligned with modern technological standards and the performance objectives of the SONATRACH Group, by utilizing 100% Algerian companies.

The entire delegation attended a meeting at the Irara base of the Production Division , a meeting dedicated to the different projects of Hassi Messaoud region , development plan as well as techniques boosting  the improvement of production.
