SONATRACH at the Heart of the National Scientific Ecosystem
SONATRACH gives a strategic importance to the development of long-lasting partnerships with the Algerian universities, research centers and national companies with the aim to give a boost innovation, strengthen the scientific and technological capacities and support the performance of national energy industry.
Through its Central Management Research & Development (DC R&D), SONATRACH is actively commited to valorize the oil and gas chain by promoting applied research, the development of innovative technological solutions, energy optimization and reduction of operation costs.
This impetus is sustained by a strong involvement in scientific events and the organization of thematics workshops promoting knowledge sharing and intersectorial collaboration.
To date 60 framework-agreements have been signed throughout the national territory, promoting applied research, transfer of skills and development of technological solutions at the service of energy optimization and competitiveness.
Exchange of expertise:
Central Management of R&D collaborates closely with universities and research centers in order to share key knowledge and expertise in the field of the oil & gas industry.
Training
It actively contributes to the students and rechearchers training offering them internship opportunities, projects of applied research and professional development
Synergie
Central Management R&D promotes the pooling of resources and technological means available within the university platforms and the SONATRACH Group, in order to intensify collaboration and optimize the results in the field of research and development.
Completed projects
Completion of seven (07) research and development projects, the implementation of which has been launched on several operational sites of the group.
Database of global oil & gas experts
Development of a strategic network gathering more than 1000 professors, doctors and specialized researchers of the oil & gas sector, from universities and national and international research centers.
NRP projects
SONATRACH participates actively in partnership with Algerian universities in fourteen (14) validated projects out of twenty-three (23) registered under the frame of the National Research Program (NRP).
Membership to TWI
SONATRACH joins officially the Welding Institute (TWI) a leading international organization specializing in research and development and training in the fields of welding, non-destructive testings (NDT), structure integrity, robotics, electronics and renewable energies.
