The Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of SONATRACH Group, Mr. Nour Eddine DAOUDI, met, yesterday, a delegation from the Czech company ČEZ, led by Mr. Daniel BENEŠ, Chairman of the Board of the Czech company, in the presence of senior executives from both companies.
This meeting was held at the El-Aurassi Hotel, as part of the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr. Andrej BABIŠ, to Algeria.
The discussions primarily focused on the execution of the contract linking the two companies since 2024, as well as examining options for its extension. During the talks, both parties also agreed to consider opportunities in order to expand this business relationship relating to other areas of cooperation.
As a reminder, SONATRACH and the Czech company ČEZ signed a natural gas purchase and sale contract in 2024 to supply the Czech Republic via the pipeline connecting Algeria and Italy. In 2025. This contract was extended with a view to deliver natural gas for an additional year as from October 1, 2025.
This meeting attests to the willingness of SONATRACH to strengthen its presence on the international energy scene and asserts its role as a trusted and reliable supplier, especially on the European market.
