Algiers, 27 October 2026,
An outbreak of fire was reported this morning around 9:10 AM near the mud circuit tanks of the TP 207 drilling rig, operating on the KARS-1 well, belonging to ENTP and located nearly 50 km from the Ohanet area.
As soon as the alert was received, SONATRACH emergency teams from the Ohanet region were immediately mobilized and deployed on-site. The actions taken enabled to secure the well and rapidly bring the situation under control.
As a security measure and within the framework of the emergency prevention and management system, additional resources were also activated.
Further to this incident no injuries or material damage were reported. The situation is currently under control, and monitoring and security measures are being maintained as a preventive action.
